I remember being a total newbie—my Cricut sat in the box for six months because I was just too intimidated to start. It was actually my husband who encouraged me; he bought it to save us from paying $25 per shirt! As a foster mom, I loved making my bonus kids feel part of the family, especially during the holidays, with matching T-shirts for everyone.
When I finally took that Cricut out, I discovered it wasn’t a printer like I thought, but a cutter—and I was clueless! My first investment was a Cricut class at Michael’s, which kickstarted everything. Back then, I had a home daycare, my two boys, and a house full of foster children. When Covid hit, I dove into crafting and never looked back.
Now, six years later, I’m a full-time crafter and business coach. I see so many newbies scared to take that first step, just like I was. It’s funny to think, if I hadn’t started back then, I wouldn’t have the journey and the testimony I do now. God had bigger plans for me, and I’m grateful every day.
